will turn up and steal the show.
Can't even hate because despite my appreciation for his game I'm glad every time he's at the wrong end of a missed foul call. That being said, the main reason why his late game play last night was significant was because it was surprising, the opposite of why it would have been significant if Russ had done the same thing.

Those question marks have been hanging around CP3 longer than everybody would like to think, so much so it's become a tragicomedy without yall ever knowing - acts one/two all fundamentally sound, linear in the traditional sense, compact, no filler, until the third act where it turns out they've been led on a wild goose chase. Just like these issues that you speak of will only cease to exist once a) Durant develops some alpha hormones b) Brooks is → c) OKC properly develop their talent.

Until then it's gonna be shoot or be shot......

Of course he's had question marks but he wasn't defined by them to any meaningful degree and nowhere near to the extent that Russ has been. As far as narrative goes the line between tragicomedy and heroic vindication is thin for both of em, just one has been walking the line with uneasy but steady poise and the other has been violently vacillating from one side to the other.
a) There's levels to this shyt. You're only alpha in relation to what's around you. Lebron for a year and a half struggle to assert his alpha credentials over a hobbled D Wade and not even he matches up to Russ in terms of intensity and single-minded self-belief. Nobody does. Russ is easily the most alpha minded player in the league. It makes absolutely no sense to expect Durant to undergo a personality transplant to thrive alongside him and if he did I strongly suspect it would end with them at each others throats. b) Brooks is moot. c) Talent = potential. Potential = fickle.

We'll keep pretending that even if that time does come, chips fall and the smoke clears, it'll be anything other than a false ending.

I'm with it. Does anybody out there think Chris Paul is the better scorer than Russell Westbrook?

This is what makes him the GOAT; all that shyt is true, but he just don't gives a lovely fukk

EDIT: This nikka was 5 foot something until his Sr. year in High School, and could barely dunk....then, he shot to 6-3 in a few months, and could do damn near everything you see here.

That's the equivalent of giving a homeless person the keys to a Ferrari.

fukk you think he supposed to act?
This is why he play like a GTA character fresh off them cheat codes.

Surprising to whom? He's caused harm with his play all throughout his post season career. No less than Westbrook, probably more - given the fact that Russ was out injured last PS and the season before he made it to the finals (and he was arguably the driving force behind them staying in the games). Granted, none have been as visibly 'shocking', as the one the other night, but they've ALL ultimately led to the same thing - defeat. Certain elimination games, 11/12 Spurs series, 12/13 Memphis series - all been instances of him killing his team softly. Everyone remembers Russ' faux pas because they're abrupt, uneasy on the eye and self cut-throat. No one remembers CP3' because on the surface they don't visibly stand out, it's not until you go back and see where his passiveness at certain times, or his pounding of the ball act leads to possessions with no buckets and/or loss of momentum.

Which is in large, down to the fact everyone seems to have the predisposition that the PG position has to be played a 'certain' way.

As far as narrative goes the line between tragicomedy and heroic vindication is thin for both of em, just one has been walking the line with uneasy but steady poise and the other has been violently vacillating from one side to the other.

That's the narrative, but if you were to add everything that they both built and destroyed throughout the game, you would see that story to be untrue.

Don't get me wrong, my expectations aren't for Durant to turn into Russ. They've for him to develop into his own. More calculated and not to appear 'taken back' at the first sign of trouble (which he has shown progress in), as he's been known to fold his hand too easily sometimes. The thing that many dudes fail to realise is that they wouldn't be at each others throats if that happened - because he wants Durant to be the one in control. Russ feeds and feeds and feeds Durant, until he can see he's full, at which point he feels it's his role to take care of rest (which is again, Brooks fault for letting them both do whatever).

We'll keep pretending that even if that time does come, chips fall and the smoke clears, it'll be anything other than a false ending.

If it does come to that, it'll be in a blaze of glory.
