Western Conference Playoffs = Same teams 3 years in a row

If the standings stay the same, the exact same 8 teams have made the playoffs for 3 seasons in a row( barring OKC missing out barely last year)

What do we attribute this to? Parity? Good GMs? Weak bottom half of the conference?

The Western Conference is as weak as its been for the past decade or so (despite the fact people keep running with this "East is JV" shyt still, but old habits die hard). As far as the same teams being in the playoffs, that was kinda expected, there wasn't much turnover amongst the playoff teams that would have you thinking anyone would drop out; everyone knew OKC would make it this year assuming Durant's health, and people expected Portland to fall out of playoff contention after losing everyone but they haven't, and most people expected New Orleans to make some kind of jump.

The West is just top heavy anyway, it's not like there's any real struggle to figure out who is coming out of the West; it's either San Antonio or Golden State, and Oklahoma City has the same longshot chance the Raptors have in the East.

The good teams are really good. The bad teams are God awful. Been that way for a while

Southwest division has been propping the west up since...will since forever...

Guaranteed to send 3 teams a year (SA , Memphis, Dal or Hou)...

Highly likely they send 4 teams a year (SA, Memphis, Dal, Hou)

Might possibly send all 5 times a year ( SA, Memphis, Dal, Hou, NO) like last year...

It just so happens that the best division in all of american sports...happens to be in the western conference of the nba...

So if OKC DIDN'T make it last year, but they're IN this year, then I might need to go check my dictionary again, but I'm pretty sure that means it not the 'exact same teams'
