I have a theory that this is why you don’t hear many new punk rock or metal bands either. All that equipment is expensive (my guitar wasn’t exactly a top tier brand and cost I think close to $200 back in 2002 so they have to cost way more now) and since fewer and fewer people can afford a house anymore there’s no place for the kids to set up and play their instruments. It bleeds into everything.It impacts art and innovation too
Culture in the west is dead because that great artist is working 12 hours in an Amazon or Walmart warehouse.
