Vice presidents don't have the power to really do anything anyway, so this isn't an unusual description for any of them. but you still expect them to speak on stuff and basically be a mouthpiece for the current administration. if you're mute as vice president do you even exist?

Not shocking at all. She's very similar to Biden in that they wanted the title, but not necessarily the job duties. The way her campaign sunk due to lack of cash, despite bringing in nearly 50mil, while those who had less, made it farther, really highlighted how in over her head she was. It's wild when you consider all the sharp people that ran for the Dems, the two most incompetent in day to day matters ended up on the ticket

The role of the VP is only as strong as the President makes it. dikk Chaney had a lot of power as VP. Biden had significant responsibility as VP. He had a foreign relations portfolio, immigration and he was the guy to work things out between Congress and the white house due to his relationships from being a 36 year Senator and because they refused to cooperate with Obama.

Supposedly Kamala's job duties right now are immigration and voting rights. Both are dead end projects that will not give her any additional value to her name. She's just a name at this point.
