i work in corporate finance. I started at the B4 audit then moved to consulting.
I have dealt with I-bankers, big firm consultants, venture capitalist firms, and dozens of industry corporate accounting and finance deptartments.
Through all my years of experience all over the United States, I have noticed a huge over representation of mormons and Nigerians in finance. 9 times out of ten, they are always extremely competent, conscientious, and reliable.
There has been at least one Mormon and Nigerian (if not more), at nearly every place that I have worked at and nearly every engagement team that I have been a part of.
I have seen a few articles that speak to this, so I know it's not just my experience.
Is there something about their culture that promotes a career in finance?
I want to incorporate what whatever they are doing into my household culture.
