What age did you feel grown up?

Just a spin-off of some Dave Chappelle & Bill Burr comedy I was listening to. Funny as hell just got me thinking.

*I was cooking & babysitting by 10
*I was fukking my live in girl at 14
*I sold drugs at like 12
*Taking public transit by 12
*Went to high school 14
*Had a job at 14
*Started straight shots around 13
*Had fam going to the L for me around 14
*Writing by about 10
*First time in jail at 18
*BM was pregnant at 17

Like I didn't realize how much I was growing up but if you came at me at 15 you fukked up.

I got my mind right at 18 when my BM was gonna have my son. I still fukked up time to time but yeah. I'm going with 14.

At 16. Moved out because I was wit my girl so much at the time...I basically moved in with her and her family. She had already dropped outta HS at 16 and was already working full-time.

Felt because I was goin to school, workin, runnin the streets, drinkin, smashin, around drugs, around ppl gettin money, and involved in criminal activity, I was basically movin as an adult...

Boy was I fooled....

By the time I was 17 I had experienced homelessness, group homes, and jail, and a ton of violence.

I made a lil over 60k when in 2003 when I was 17

So I really thought I was that nikka.

I felt like I was grown around that age, but I was clearly mentally a child. My views were all the way fukked up.

23. When I became self sufficient, had enough to pay rent, and had good amount of disposable income, my mom asked for help on her mortgage and I paid the whole month and ain’t even think about getting “paid back”, knew how to cook so I ain’t have to waste money on always going out to eat.

Around 12, when I finally was able to run my first sufficient 6 figure business.

When I was 17 and graduated high school. Went to college and no longer had a mandatory curfew. Could come and go as I pleased.

I made a lot of mistakes and did dumb shyt. But I was grown and had to own those mistakes

I always thought I was grown, but honestly not until the age I am now, 26. This age I’ve really felt like I’ve stepped up as a man and just moving differently. Making major money moves, taking care of my family and being a leader to those around me and someone to look up/lean on.

At 17 I thought I was ready for the world

Been homeless, group homes, dropped out twice and still got my diploma, had multiple jobs/experiences, etc.,




Had got my shyt together, finished top of my class, and was gonna go play college ball because I was just that good...









Then life slapped my ass back down again
