i didnt stop speaking to them until i was like 15. i still live with my mom and i dont speak to her.

This isn't true for some people. I remember my roomate freshman year got the call from his sister when his mother died, and he said "I'm not going to her funeral ", and preceded to ask how his niece was doing in kindergarten​

He is ungrateful and will regret it once he grows older. Unless you were abused there's no excuse for this.
