What are LeBron's expectations for the Lakers this season?

What is LeBron going to consider a successful season?

  • Just making the playoffs is good enough with this squad

  • They need to win at least one round to get some experience this year

  • Season is going to be a disappointment if they don't make the WCF

  • For LeBron anything other than a ring is a disappointment

  • Playoffs? I didn't come to LA for no damn basketball, I got moves to make.

I was thinking, this gotta be weird as hell because he's basically been title or bust for a decade now. Then this year the Lakers didn't even really try to build a title lineup. So what is he actually aiming for?

Ya'all think he's gonna be satisfied with whatever this season until they make the moves next year? Or is he going to think the team needs a certain amount of success this year to be ready? Is he always shooting for a title? Or does he not even care anymore?

On paper, this looks like a squad that's going to have to fight to get past the first round.

But I have a hard time imagining that LeBron can really see it that way. Once the season gets going he's going to be frustrated if they aren't winning, and in the playoffs I think he'd see it as a personal offense if anyone other than the Warriors beat them. When was the last time he lost to a team that wasn't truly great? Does he even remember what that feels like?

I think he knows they can't beat the Warriors yet, but if he loses to anyone other than the Warriors he's gonna be disappointed.

Only thing he can match Kobe and Shaq in a Laker uniform with is winning the MVP
Kobe and Shaq each only have one MVP trophy as Lakers
That's Laker Lebron easiest path to matching anything from the Shaq/Kobe era's
50 wins with completely engaged Lebron wins him the MVP easily IMO

Its gonna be very difficult snatching that from Harden or Westbrook. Those 2 are winning 50+ games while basically averaging triple doubles

He came to LA for bidness and movies.

Basketball is now secondary to him.
