A must have in foreign countries.

Can also be used to change your location to a foreign country IOT watch something not available in your country.

Police/feds (generally) cannot trace digital print back to you.

I've used Windscribe and it's worked pretty well. The business is based in Canada which may seem like a concern, but they say they don't keep any identifying logs (as some other VPN providers do): Windscribe

I have only really used it for public Wi-Fi and to get around some ISP blocks. Primarily.

the free VPN's are either very slow or have a data cap. you probably need to pay for one.
