Above the fray.
Never heard of that before:ohhh:.

Yeah I could see Joe being that, but not this Joe. The Joe we are seeing today has not only been neutered by claims of sexual harrasment, and lack of racial sensitivity. But even without all that,I think he was just a Joe Biden who had spent 8 years around Obama who is a nice guy,and genuinely rubbed off on him. At the moment he just doesn't seem all that "off the cuff" "straight shooter" like I remember him a decade ago. I think he would have been more likely to stand in there and trade cheap shots with Trump,he would have gotten into the pig pen. Not sure if this new Biden will be able to do that.

The thing is, he was the last shot of the "fight fire with fire" type. If he morphs back into the old Joe, Dems lose whatever "moral high ground" they claimed to have in this Trump era.
I make the joke that the "political science" experts that they trot out on tv every election are useless in the Trump era because none of the old rules apply

Bears legend Mike Ditka explains why he won't run for the Senate.
CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- Legendary Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka said Wednesday night that he has decided not to run for the open U.S. Senate seat in Illinois.

"I've thought about it. I've talked to my family. I've talked to some close friends. I have a lot of commitments that I've made previous to this coming up, some obligations to my partners here at this restaurant. And therefore, it's something that I can't do at this time," he said.

Ditka spoke to reporters outside his steakhouse in Chicago.

He said he was "honored" that Republican leaders had approached him and that the attention he received was "flattering."

"Five [or] six years ago, I would have jumped on it, I would have ran with it and I know this -- that I would make a good senator because I'm for the people."

In addition to his restaurant, Ditka also serves as a football analyst for ESPN.

Ditka's decision means with less than four months to go before Election Day, Republicans still don't have a candidate to face Democratic state Sen. Barack Obama in the race to replace retiring GOP Sen. Peter Fitzgerald.

They don’t like to show their hands. Very few will admit they like his bullshyt. He is fighting solely for them and saying fukk anybody who ain’t white. You think a cac in rural Ohio is going to vote for Kamala Harris or Bernie just because they lost their job?
