Please state some facts, events and artists.

Who were that African American group from the 50s that incorporated rap style vocals? There was a video on it. I forgot their name.

- Grandmaster Flash was from the Barbados

- Jamaican Reggae had the dancehall parties with an "MC" on the mic - but what year did that start in Jamaica?

- What years did soul and funk start?

- James Brown also started alot

- Way further back in one of Krs One's newest temple videos he talks of ppl going village to village to spread truths on life I think in rhyme.

I am looking for complete facts so I can delve deeper into my research and history.

I know alot of you are historians here, so I'd love to hear your contributions.

@Art Barr what's good?

Thread just reminds me that I had (might still be around) an original Pigmeat Markham vinyl of "Here Come the Judge", Those heavy 180 gram pieces (verve records iirc) and I didn't take care of it the way I should have AT ALL :mjcry:.
