Is there going to be a jump with displays... a new oled standard or micro led. How will they convince us to upgrade?

Instead of upping the pixels, they need to experiment with shape and how its displayed. I feel like i should have an 180 degree viewing experience. human eyeball is only so powerful, after a while these pixel upgrades are not going to mean anything

16K came out a few years ago at $5M

I don’t think they’ll be convincing anyone anytime soon to upgrade

Visuals have been pretty much maxed out. I'm just waiting for somebody to cycle back to Smell-O-Vision.

Several of them dropped 8k tv sets from their lineup this year. I couldn't say why that was other than people weren't buying them. But tvs are large enough with high enough quality with 4K/120hz. 8K sets would need to be much larger than the 75-85in tvs to notice the difference and those size tvs are already either too big for most setups or big enough to satisfy wanting a large screen setup that isn't a projector. Everyone doesnt have the space for a 100-120" tv. Thats where you can notice a difference between 4K and 8K. But those sizes are impractical for almost everyone so its hit a wall. I think they'll focus more on the tech for next couple years vs resolution.

Probably more gimmick shyt only hardcore gamers care about like VRR, higher FPS, 240hz will become standard. HDR 11 lol. Better ray tracing DLSS.

They will start hyping that shyt and telling non gamers that shyt matters and will make watching reality tv better.

Maybe they adopt VR or AR idk. But whatever it is it’s not going to make tv and movies better it’s going to focus on making gaming better
