Yes I think that's usually the implication behind the question b/c I don't look mixed. I try not to assume everyone thinks that way but I've had people just flat out say it. One guy said "You must be mixed b/c I have never been attracted to a BW before."He was Black btw.

I get asked the shyt maybe a gazillion times. My whole life. I'm not dark skinned or light I'm medium complexion I just have "that hair"...
I get asked this shyt by bytches and nikkaz and like my man said if the shyt stopped at "no" cool but these mfs wanna try and tell me I must be confused or misinformed or I'm lying.. Like they REFUSE to accept the fact that I'm not mixed. All the way up to my great great grands I'm afro american.
Another thing that I'm taken aback by is mfs expect you to take that question as a COMPLIMENT. Like you should feel good about the fact you have another race mixed in you other than black and they're waiting on you to say thank you for that dumb shyt.
I've had people literally say that out loud like "I meant it as a compliment" mf HOW???

both my kids have curly hair and I've been asked multiple time by black people what their mixed with. I always walk away thinking to myself, "you self-hatin ass nikkas you"

because it's trueI don't think it's c00n status at all. I don't get the "are you mixed" question a lot though. I think folks look at me and can tell. When my hair was straight I got it way more often but since I've had my hair into a short fro style (for a good year now) for some reason I think it confuses people, especially the white folks here who've known me since I was younger.
A few have asked "how did you get your hair to fro up like a black person like that?"

See to me i always find its more about skin tone more then hair texture ...
