Just going by the NYpD guidelines If what is considered North and South cause Red Hook is also Brooklyn South but there is nothing South about Red Hook.

The Meaning of ‘South Brooklyn’

im from Cali but without a doubt NYC is the GOAT city. I need to bring my wife and two boys up there. that's one of the good things about moving to Georgia, access too so much more. Philly, Miami, NYC, etc

What do you like about NYC as opposed to Cali?

Brooklyn looks like Disney world these days. Nostrand Ave where Meger Evers college used to be gully as Fuk. I remember the riots. Now I can sip coffee at the dunkin donuts on Nostrand and eastern parkway

The Meaning of ‘South Brooklyn’

my brother lived in Flatbush and I had family in Far Rockaway. my brother went to school in Brooklyn Heights, St. Francis NYC. I fell in love with NY man, the food, the city skylines, the music, just the overall vibe. there is no comparison between Oakland and NYC, that's more of a San Francisco thing. the bay is more laid back. Oakland is less than 500k people I think

Good looking on that NY times article. I know the NYPD have their own map of what the two are and I know there is one we all know which included west and east Brooklyn and there was a personal saying I believed in that south Brooklyn was just the white/Asian side of Brooklyn

San Fran looks to have a strict Manhattan vibe. I believe Oakland is only compared to Brooklyn specifically.

Everyone says that about San Francisco. All my East coast homies and family says it reminds them of a mini Manhattan

If the Bay Area did what the the boroughs did when they merged the boroughs together then it would pretty much be the west coast twin. The BART does exactly the MTA does.

Something I'm curious about, are the buildings in Washington Heights and Inwood mostly walkups like lower Manhattan or elevator buildings like the West Bronx?

Walk ups. They were limited on how high they can go up. I know they were talking about changing that in recent years
