offbeat rappers has always been a thing in hip hop but has been more prevalent now that more rappers don't give a fukk when rapping on a beat -- they have no cadence, rhyme schemes, or count syllables at all when trying to fit their rhymes on any beat
it used to be rappers were off beat because the producer had experimental beats or tweaked the beat afterwards or had to digitally change the vocals to quantize the lyrics with the beat, but nowadays, both rappers and producers either don't give a fukk or don't know how to do that anymore
random wutang songs were off beat, silkk da shocker, blueface, G herbo, YBN, etc
i.e. NBA is spitting but was offbeat as hell
