Self explanatory. For this year, what issues do you feel are the most important? I'm kind of combining certain topics into one category. For me in no particular order -

Racial Injustice/Police Brutality/Criminal Justice reform
Climate Change (one day yall will realize how serious this is)
Coronavirus
The Economy
Healthcare

If I had to pick a sixth it would probably be infrastructure or gun control.

  1. UBI - no matter how anyone feels about the virus, it exposed the system. This needs a real analysis.
  2. Economy - its wrecked and if they want to keep the house of cards from crumbling, there will have to be some real discussions.
  3. Police Reform - Its past time. They should not be receiving a small defense department budget and equipment and they should be less utilized in communities where a badge and gun make little sense.
  4. Healthcare and Pharma costs and coverage - another aspect of our current society that has been widely exposed due to the virus.
  5. International standing - a lot of diplomacy and relationship mending will be necessary.

I would add mental illness...

COVID has proven without a doubt at least 40% of this country is borderline retarded...

Mental illness seems to be a very big deal in the incest flyover states...

The entire state of Florida IMO needs to undergo mental illness-crisis intervention...

Healthcare
Economy
Racial Justice
Infrastructure
Education

Healthcare reform would include attacking Coronavirus
Infrastructure would provide more jobs with projects focused on improving rural and more impoverished areas
Education reform would focus on better preparing future generations to step into the world with more incentives for STEM while also bolstering HBCUs

  • Washington in general, from increased partisanship, to corruption, to term lengths, to our courts, to lobbying and dark money, shytty foreign policy...something has to change here or it’s not worth even being bothered about any of the issues we’ve listed
  • Healthcare
  • Climate - we need a real plan here to save our planet
  • Education (might be a local or state issue more than national)
  • Corporatism - not sure if this fits under the economy - but it’s driving issues with taxes (which if properly taxed would help fund a lot of shyt), suppressed pay, lack of healthcare and corruption in Washington
  • Honorable mention to racial justice given race has always been an issue to me, but 400 yrs and we’re still asking for the same things, this will always be a fight, but the realist in me doesn’t expect white people - and our non ally other POC - to change much

In no particular order

1. Education - Not just the quality of education in America, but the principles and values ( or lack of) being taught in American education
2. Economy - Too much debt (excess) swishing through the economy right now. The US economy is being stood up by consumer spending that is fueled by cheap credit. Eventually something will have to give.
3. Climate Change - This is a real issue but I really don't know how you stop this without A - rethinking this Capitalist notion of growth at all costs or you buyout Big oil and have them move all their business investments into clean energy. There's also the case of the developing world. They want to grow and be prosperous as well. Very like
4. Infrastructure: This could be a good way to get the economy back into a productive state. Rails, bridges, roads etc
5. Other - Politics - The American political system is so deeply flawed at the moment that nothing can get passed. From the lobbyists to the different corporate bodies with their hands in the pot.

Honourable Mention: This I think will be bigger in the coming years but this whole notion of the "digital/virtual world" that's being pushed. You have to ask yourself, who's the creator of this digital world and what are/is their agenda behind it. Especially this digital currency thing, I have my reservations about it.

Another random, not so important, yet would make a world a difference issue - time! The US needs to move to two time zones, especially since the coasts really facilitate most business, it would make doing business from Cali to NY much easier. Merge mountain time into pacific, because who gives a fukk about the mountain time zone states, and merge central with eastern, when I worked in Chicago, they worked East Coast hours anyway, most people were in the office at 8am to match with the east coast being in at 9 and prime time starts at 7pm to match with it being 8pm on the east coast. Also, kill the time change, let’s just stay on DST

Other - Significant change is needed to current political system. (voter suppression, being serious about reparations, corporate interest / money dictating policy, etc.)
