your stars are but dust on my shoes
Anything goes.. what is going to age the worst about the past decade?

Is there certain flows, production styles, or lyrical content that will eventually sound dated?

Trends that will age terribly?

What's your prediction?

Thought about this while listening to a 'mixtape' that has recently started to bug the shyt outta me because the mixing & mastering sounds unprofessional. Made me think about how artists are perhaps becoming more involved in the decisions behind the mixing, mastering, and distribution of records, which might not always be the best thing for the final product.

Think about all the digital content that has been released since at least 2006. Beyond the fact that a huge chunk of that music was recorded under less than desirable circumstances, a lot of it hasn't even been properly preserved or stored. We could be facing the loss of a lot of material, and whatever we do hold on to, might not even sound all that great because we only got a shytty bitrate rip.:pachaha:

Could it be that a lot of our contemporary releases won't even be enjoyable to listen to because the audio quality is so degraded? Just a thought.

non-punched in, in-the-bar, spoken adlibs with the most popular being "...yeah" as a poetic device. megan the stallion is a perfect example of that but there's literally tons

end your bars with a slight pause and then an "Ooo!" or "Uhh!" over and over again. it's lazy and unimaginative

i think it will end up aging as bad as hashtag rap 2010-2013. "bytch i been ballin................BLAKE GRIFFIN!!!" :krs:

Lack of substance and skill.

Not saying every song has to be some "Heal the World" timing, but if 95% of your music is "Party, Gang Gang, fukk bytches, Jewelry and Cars, Get High" mumbling/vibing I don't think that's going to stand the test of time well...especially when you stop being a youngin, everybody got a birthday.

Look at Wayne, if he wasn't actually a pretty good rapper and just had that gimmick and content he'd be a laughing stock imo...especially if he tried coming out now at like 40 still doing that shyt.

He is a laughing stock though despite his little string of good verses lately

The first thing that pops up is just that hardly anything will be remembered simply cause too many projects get released. Stuff will just come and go and will only be notable for the moment
There’s going to be fewer and fewer universally recognized or consensus classics as well we go forward and people are just bombarded and overwhelmed with content.
