It was part of the roving gang's so i ask what can we do to stop gang violence.
As public enemy said never ever ran from the Ku Klux Klan And I shouldn't have to run from a black man :lawd:
And the answer is not asking white people they love this shyt and it only puts a smile on there:demonic: face

I believe Kool Moe Dee said that in Self Destruction. I may be wrong though :coffee:

I'm REAL curious to see the replies in this thread. Initial thoughts might include an increased police presence but we hate pigs on here. Another thought might be shaming these savages as they are our brothers, uncles, cousins, etc.. Only problem with that is you might be accused of self hatred for expecting more of your folks.

Increased police presence for the older heads and intervention for the Youth 21 and under. Old heads gonna be ten toes down in their ways so they stuck in the gang life till their dead, in jail, or get tired of the BS. But there's still a chance to reach the younger ones, put em in sports, gainful legal employment, show them that theirs a whole big world out there with endless possibilities besides their corner, street, block , hood , city etc

I think "gang" violence in the traditional sense (bloods vs. crips etc.) is dying. These celebrity "gang" members (Game, Nip Hussle, YG) are pretty much all friendly around LA and the violence is lowering. Not saying it's dead but it's not like it used to be.

I think Donald Trump is really going to turn the country into AmeriKKKans vs. Minorities and over time we will see a lot more black with black unity. It will take a while but I believe that people are waking up and we are beginning to see our real enemies aren't the people living in our condition, but rather the people that put us there...

As a society, we need to show black kids how to get money legally so that they are less swayed to resort to illegal activities. There are a lot of good entrepreneurial minded kids who get caught up in "hustling" because it's easy money for them. We need to continue to give them opportunities away from drugs and theft to make money and show them there are other ways to make money.

As a person, you can donate your time and energy on one child at a time and teach them about their self worth, help them goal set, help them find a hobby or a passion and push them toward it. Do that and encourage others to do it and you can make individual impacts on the ground level. :manny:

All this drip on me
Gang violence has been decreasing nationally the last few decades. Efforts from the community, like mentoring programs are some of the things that can mitigate it.

Basically it starts at home and education. Crime rates tend to correlate with socioeconomic status of an area, so the more our educational attainment increases the more our communities' crime rates will decrease and gang violence will stop being more glamorized than moving out the hood and becoming successful/stacking bread while using your brain.

I actually think moving forward, blacks in america are on the right path.

Idle hands are the devil's workshop.

While I don't think that every young person who joins a gang simply did it because they had "nothing better to do"... I do believe that alot would have not had as many opportunities to be involved in that life if they were otherwise occupied.

When I was in military school we volunteered at the Boys and Girls club twice a week. It was great, I dunked on all them lil middle schoolers :umad:

But I also tutored them (basically did their hw for them) and shot the shyt with them.

By my junior year it went from something I was doing for college admission to something I looked forward to every week.
I kept up with it in college for a little bit but sadly I stopped volunteering when engineering became hard.

I'm actually thinking of coaching a little league football team with a friend of mine back in Dallas.:ehh:

Imo just give people shyt to do. Every kid likes to excel.

I need to step my volunteering game up.

If you want to take it down to the nitty gritty, violence in urban areas has a causal relationship with poverty. If you go to a middle class black neighborhood, you would see that the violent crime rate is drastically reduced when compared to an impoverished neighborhood. Since public funds tend to trickle down meagerly into these neighborhoods, the illegal drug trade more often than not tends be the 'quick fix'. Whenever you are talking about the drug trade, then inevitably people will tend to use violence to control territory and/or get rid of their rivals. That's where the whole survival of the fittest mentality comes from. The person in that other gang or that other block could affect your livelihood somehow, or could be a potential threat of violence to you. Simply put, you would need to get the drugs (and probably guns) out of black neighborhoods. From there, you would need to bring jobs into the area. Unfortunately, businesses are not going to set up where they don't see a potential revenue stream, so it becomes cyclical - poverty means no business and vice versa. The community would have to pool resources together to advance themselves economically; the Chinese and Indians are particularly adept at doing it, but it's not something that black people do well. Once you have a social economy going, then you can command public funds, and these need to be distributed to funding education in the communities, that means more resources in these schools, better educational material, a better learning environment and teachers that actually want to teach the kids. Education would have to be stressed to every kid in the community moving forward. You would need the very fabric and mentality of the community to change before you can really make an impact this gang/gun culture. Then black communities would be able to regulate themselves without the need for 'extra policing' and all that other stuff. That said, the system has been designed for these things to happen.

Kinda hard to do when it's glorified all throughout our music and that's one of them main ways our children get their influence from, especially if the parents ain't shyt

The culture... it all starts at home...... and you know how a lot of black american households are unfortunately... the culture has to be repaired...

Yep, a complete cultural overhaul. The very, very, very least thing to do first tho is to stop glorifying it as "cool" in the music:

Many more factors involved but that shyt needs to stop being glorified in the music asap.

Why Are Known GangMembers So Non-Chalantly Allowed To Influence the Youth?
