Remember ten years ago & prior when black artist were saturated all on the billboard 100 with ease , MTV had fight klub , BET had quality shows , Black cinema was frequently released ? it seems like ever since this decade arrived we rarely witness that . That fact that no black artist topped the billboard in 2013 is a huge indicator that im not bugging . My theory is that the ringtone era set the stage for that to occur , songs that were hot for a brief moment never to resurface again type shyt . What's ya take ?

what quality shows did BET have 10 yrs ago? if we wanna talk specifically about hiphop culture, dudes like 50 cent and the entire eastcoast mixtape circuit pretty much killed it. now the south has been fukking its corpse for the last decade to the point where you hardly remember it use to be a valid artform.

Can't really say we've seen a decline in black athletic achievement over the last decade. As far as entertainment music and movies they've fallen off as black people in general seem more eager to cross over IMO. As far as culture outside of entertainment the black family structure is looking dire. Don't know if we're becoming a permanent underclass but the prison industrial complex has reached record levels of growth and we disproportionately adding to the bulk of that population at a rate thats not showing signs of slowing.
