But really doe, we were just on a up swing, we have never really owned anything by large and what when we do we are assimilated into the white man's world. Every reg old black person that gets some money and was down for a cause and very much pro black community changes once they get some money and start dealing with business.

Its crazy to watch it happen, its almost like its no escaping it.

Right now black people are comfortable, all the hard work has been done and everything at a glance seems "ok" over all. We are ok with giving up all we have and own to make that money, live that dream and hopefully provide something good for our kids.

Why is this still a question? Everyone knows that once Black men demanded that the white man take his economic base that it was curtains for the Black community. WTF, is OP 15 years old or something? The decline started way before the 2000s. This was set into motion during the 1950s when the Black man got tired of being around his own people.

The Passage of Time
Black Flight, killed black culture. Getting affirmative action opportunities, and a chance to purchase homes outside of the community they grew up in, killed the tax based and the 2 parent home. Also, welfare separated the father(who is poor) from the family, in order to receive assistance they must state on documents under the penalty of perjury, the father is not in the household and the social worker checking up on this to make sure there was no father in the home, killed the poor family unit. This also turned the family on its head, changed the power structure from patriarch to matriarch and kicked the father out of the home and the woman i.e. Mother was empowered by the government to force the father to submit or get out. She no longer needed him for sustenance, just the occasional affection and conversation. Nope music didn't do that, the destruction can easily be traced to blacks wanting to assimilate and assimilation unfortunately came at a cost.

We've been shamed out of having pride in what little culture we were able to create after having been enslaved and stripped of our identity.

We can't talk Black - "Stop that Ebonics shyt. Talk proper (white)"

We can't dress Black - "Pull your pants up! (Dress feminine)"

We can't listen to Black music - "Turn that rap crap off. Did he just say ******? Does that mean I can call you that, too?"

Anything that might appear to be of our making has been stigmatized. Nowadays, it's all about the #newblack (which is the #oldwhite).
