What do you do if your employer paid you too much?

My 19 year old brother ended up getting paid 3000 this month and the same last month, He was entitled to a 10% but apparently they made a mistake and by putting in 110 % into the system He notified the company yesterday but i'm pretty sure had he not said anything he could have got overpaid for another year before they noticed
