Learn to read nikka, I clearly said you didn't own a PC in that post. But, somehow, no matter what game someone is talking about you'll pop up talking about you "seen it". Again, anyone with a brain can tell you haven't seen Crysis 3 in person or else you never would have posted that video above and tried to critique the graphics in some long winded ass post. You thought there wasn't much of a gap between the 360 version and PC version, because all you've seen are youtube videos, but now you've conveniently "seen it" in person

There's no animosity, I just enjoy calling you out on your obvious bullshyt because it's obvious as hell.

There ain't a super huge gap...I stand by that. Maybe we have different definitions of "huge gap"....I don't have to prove anything to your bytch ass though. You got emotional after I didn't give you the response YOU wanted after posting YOUR video towards me.

Gang violence...
resolution, frame rate, animation quality, physics.

basically i expect to be impressed by the world being more complete. current games look nice until you interact with stuff. lots of clipping, low res textures, bad animations, stuff not taking on realistic damage, etc. that needs to be dealt with this time around.

That doesn't really prove anything. It's not a big jump in terms of straight graphical detail. But the extra power makes the jump in gameplay, animation, AI, Size, features will be great.

During this generation we had games that concentrated on facial animations(La Noire) games that were huge with seemingly limitless options (skyrim, gta) there where games like uncharted that took animations and presentation to the next level.

Think about next gen when developers will be able to put all theses experiences into one game. In sports games the crowd and refs will be able to be fully rendered with their own A.I. Multiplayer shooters will be able to handle more players, enemies, or other features on screen at one time. The physics in racing games can be even more realistic.

So no, Nathan drake's face may not improve much, but there will be 10 Nathan drakes on screen all thinking and acting independently, that's where the big jump will be seen.

:whoa: I wasn't trying to "prove" anything

it's just an example of 'diminishing returns' in graphics (a phrase that has come up a few times in this thread)

Yeah. I hear you.

I remeber reading a story before 360 came out that was talking about how the closer we get to photorealistic graphics, the further we will get from characters actually looking real.

It explained how the human fixes the images we see and fills in the blanks to give us a complete cohesive picture. But as graphics get more detailed the human eye has less to fill in so the burden falls more on developers to provide realistic believable images. So we may be able to render the look of human skin, but the more realistic the skin looks, the more our brain will expect it to behave like human skin, meaning it will always look weird as we notice the imperfections.

For this reason I don't think we will ever have a video game character that looks indistinguishable from a human being, but I do think the added processing power will greatly improve other aspects of games and gaming in general.

Current gen graphics are STILL amazing to me. I really don't see why people are worrying. I finished playing Crysis 3 for hours on PC today and that game got was getting fukked pretty good by my computer visually. I then popped in UC3 just now and went ONLINE and I thought I would've been like :gag: but I wasn't. The lighting, motion blur and style of graphics still looked very nice. Mind you Uncharted 3 is running in pure 720P. Had this very same game been rendered at 1080P with better antialiasing and ran at 60FPS that would be enough for me visually to be worth buying again for next gen.

where are the nikkas who said we wouldn't see a huge leap in graphics? :youngsabo:

Fox engine showing us that we are definitely close to TRUE PHOTOREALISM. Look at how natural the environments look. How incredible the lighting and shading is. The game has graphics as good as Beowulf had in 2007. Can't wait to see graphics like this through a VR headset like the Oculus Rift. We truly have made a quantum leap forward in gaming this gen.
