What do you think they're doing with Del Rio?

Anyone else feel like he gave a promo after the match with Christian that made him seem like a face to all the hispanics in America/Mexico/Rest of the world and a heel to the rest?

Is he going to be face in certain territories and a heel in others? I don't think I've ever really seen something like that done. Though I did hear about Brett being cheered no matter what when he was in Canada.

Word was that the largest demographic for Smackdown was Hispanic folk. Whatever they got planned, last night was interesting, and that's hard to say with how Del Rio's been packaged and presented. I loved Rodriguez as his stooge, but something tell me that separating from him will be the best thing done for him since the Rumble win.

Bret made it clear in his promos that it was him vs the US. They didn't have ADR doing anything of the sort after the double turn with Dolph last month. He had more of the "I don't get why you're booing me" character as opposed to the "fukk ya'll I just rock with my fellow latinos" shtick that Bret was doing with Canada/Europe/rest of world. Hence why he was still getting cheered outside of the US.

I'm curious to see if they will go the Nationalist tweener route with ADR and cater to areas that have a heavy Mexican/Hispanic population. Might be interesting but I'm tired of this nikka. Maybe they'll have him play the role of face in a city that will cheer him so that Sangawd can cash in on him

Why? Because he made fun of Total Divas on Twitter? They're doing right by him so far since the Face turn IMO. Can't toss him right in the title picture just yet. Gotta make his turn credible by having him feud with AJ/Big E.

It's just odd that he's completely out of the title picture already, that's why I'm not sure. He should have still been gunning for ADR while dealing with AJ/Big E; or ideally it should have been Dolph/ADR at Summerslam with AJ/Big E turning on him to culminate his official face turn.

I still liked that preview we got of 'Dark Dolph' where he spewed that Ether to AJ's soul in the locker room. Wouldn't mind seeing him take a stab at that again.

Like I said in the SummerSlam thread as soon as he cut that promo, they're turning him into the 1997 Mexican Bret Hart.

Dude is a heel who doesn't cheat or use under-handed tactics in his matches. It sort of blows my mind how people boo him after he wins

a semi likable personality could help, but were talking about Dolph so that won't materialize anytime soon.

This current title reign has been the most I've ever enjoyed Del Rio as a character.his face run had potential but they screwed it up with that swagger feud.
