I ask this to the esteemed readers of the coli as my 32nd birthday approaches on monday.

Aside from work, trying to keep rent and bills paid, working on side projects, my life is pretty laid back. I got friends all over NYC. I haven't really been going out to bars of clubs or concerts. I've just been chilling with good friends of mine on the block while talking about life.

And I skateboard. Yes. At almost 32 years of age, I am still an active skateboarder (mostly on the weekends and after work). I am probably a better skater now in my 30s than I was when I was in my teens and even my 20s.

Does act you age mean you have to reach a certain number of goals and achivements and dress up nice all the time? Does act your age mean stop using profanity and start using more flowerly words and collegiate speak? Or does act your age mean...be yourself?

If so...I am a licensed insurance agent in NY state. Worked for a firm on walll street, in the process of working at another firm in Bensonhurst. THat's technically my "profession". I rarely talk about it cause I really don't enjoy it that much. But it makes money that I can put into my business which was a dream since I had since high school.

Does act your age mean you have to be married and have kids at a certain time?

I've just really feel I've been able to connect with myself over the past 8 years....and personally I don't want to be in a long term relationship at this point in time. LAst time I was hot and heavy with a woman it was in 2008 for 6 months. And coming from a family who was fairly well to do and gave me and my siblings the best of education and opportunities...I couldn't bring kids into the world without establishing myself financially so they could have the same benefits and opportunities my parents afforded us. I swear, some people just want kids so they can show them off on the gram, twitter, or facebook....nah, I couldn't be one of those people. My mom and dad taught us and inspired us to be the best by example, I could only want my own children to the be the best.

SO, because I like to listen to Trap and Drill and Juke and EDM and music made by teenagers I'm somehow not "acting my age"? I love music....it keeps me going, the youth of the world continue to inspire me and I hope to inspire them.

I might be a 32 year old man that likes to ride a skateboard and has since the age of 5, but the last thing you could ever call me is immature, uncalculated, unprofessional, and uniformative.

AS time goes on, what we consider as "norms" with age will just change. We we're and are a prettty young generation that made a huge impact that still can be felt to this day no matter how much you think about it. I have no problem with adults feeling free to connect with their inner children and remember the people who they once were in order to traverse the future with no fear.

THANKS FOR READING.

I just got a haircut today for my birthday celebration on Wednesday. Before this I had a full beard and mini-fro. I could pass for 19 honestly and it's kind of embarassing. LOL.

But I like being able to tell people how old I am and they get shocked.
AS far as life is concerned, I will always be forever young. I hold on to the essential elements of my life that bring me joy in order to see succcess and deal with the trials and tribulations of life. LOL.

(BTW, this thread was inspired by a phone call from my mother....she asked me "are you still skating?"...I said "yea" she said "really? Aren't you too old for that?" I laughed considering I wasn't the youngest person at the spot...plus we were in the middle of filming a video for Bronze56k that tens to film around there in Bushwick.

Growing old is mandatory...

Growing up is optional.

You only have one life to live so keep doing what you enjoy
At this point in my life, I love how I can go from riding the J train to Broad St in a suit and tie with briefcase in the morning...then switch to a white t-shirt a pair of levis and a busted old pair of vans and skate the streets of NYC.

I'm just loving life right now.

I Think That Saying Pertains To Mentally Immature People And People With Screwed Up Priorities

Not People Who Have Their Life Together And Enjoy Carefree Hobbies
Very true. I'm glad I don't fall into the previous category. I'm just enjoying life at this moment and being free. But I work hard to play hard.

Even the people I know my age that party alot and go to the bar got their money and business together so it's not really a hinderance to hang with them.

I'm just now in the mode of doing whatever I can to help friends of mine get into a position to better their lives.

I have to remind my wife that I work 40 hrs a week, don't get into any trouble, and am at home all the time during the week when i get off work.

Don't trip when a nikka wanna play ps4 all weekend or wanna go out to get a couple drinks.

She's all about that "A great weekend for me is spending time at home with my family" aka "sit yo black ass right on this couch next to me"

Live your life as comfortably as you can. Don't let anyone try to make you feel guilty. We have enough stress and bullshyt to deal with it just surviving. As long as you handle your priorities, you're good.

Anyone telling you to 'act your age' is pretty much inviting you to be miserable like them while trying to dissuade you from having the fun they can't.

I had a talk with a friend of mine, good friend and we were talking about how we 30 and shyt and he starts going on about shyt he's too 'Old for' like watching random movies and talking to people under 25.

...........yet this fakkit is outside playing Pokemon Go and sending me vids/Pics of him in all sorts of "Intereating" places where they drop them pedophile lure shyts.

He ain't too old to be running around in parks with toddlers to play that shyt, right?

Rant aside, live life on your terms and be active. fukk the noise.
