What does it mean when a man says....

Was I looking unwell yesterday?

This phrase has been said to me 3 times in 1 week and I'm baffled by it.

Apparently, it's the polite way of saying you look good without coming across as flirty because we're in a professional environment and every man is afraid of a sexual lawsuit

But I can't help but give this look every time someone says it to me. I did ask 1 guy what he meant and he went on a tirade about how women just find negativity in everything you say but I swear people only say you look well when you've recovered from something & was looking unwell previously
