What does the next generation Xbox possibly getting access to STEAM do to gaming?

maybe a wave for ppl new to both platforms, but other than that precious little. PCs already do this

Absolutely nothing. No one is paying $1000 for a non upgradable Xbox branded pc

All this is is Xbox becoming a 3rd party and letting different manufacturers put their branding on stuff like we all said they would

The Original Rec Room Gang

what impact, if any would this have?
We already get all the shytty PC games, flooding the games list up :scust:
We even have HUMBLE BUNDLES now
The only question is why not use Gamepass.. you can use steam, you can use PSnow.
But what's stopping you from getting gamepass?

I believe that's the strategy.

I think this opens thems up more to causal pc gamers that may want to dabble in pc games but don’t want to actually build a pc.

If they can drop a 500 dollar box that you don’t have to worry about drivers and optimization, get a closed console experience while also allowing them to dabble in pc games, at medium-high GFX, I think that’s a value proposition a small segment of gamers (in addition to Xbox primary base) might want.

If they are able to sell game pass subs to that small segment as well then win win.

Beyond that, I don’t think this is massive.

They can’t even do that now, a series x is $600 and a 2 tb is $730 lol

how much is a non-subsidized box going to be because no one will ever use the windows/xbox store front again if steam is on there. People didn’t even want a $300 dollar xbox, i doubt anyone will care about a $800 dollar asus xbox Besides hardcore xbox stans.

The same people that made an argument about the ps5 pro not being a good value are going to spend the next few years trying to convince people a walled living room pc (with paid online) is a good deal for even more money lol
