Less whining old heads and more open minded ones that's for sure.

But its not like old heads haven't been whining about rap since the early 90's
Thats never gonna change.....

Its tough man cause its just a different time, I know for me there really isn't any excitement about any new albums anymore. I know EVERY album is gonna leak weeks for before it goes to retail and usually by time it goes to retail I'm already probably moved on... But I'm don't think we are gonna get that cat back in the bag...

Also the mixtape game is to a point you can't tell the difference between albums and mixtapes anymore. I wish rappers would take more chances and try out new shyt on their mixtapes more often... Also more estblished artists probably shouldn't make so many mixtapes. Like them or not, whenever Jay-Z, Kanye, Nas, even Drake drop a song its kind if a event because we don't have a gang of mixtape and random verses floating around from them...

Lastly, Whatever happened to the "Rap Group"?

I'm not talking about like MMG, YMCMB, GBE, GOOD, labels or cliques who have artists that rap together often. But groups like Goodie Mob, Bone Thugs, Wu-Tang, Lox who have chemistry and have been rapping together for some time... I know the songs with 2 or3 features have kind of replaced that... But its just kinda weird how groups just disappeared. Even duos like UGK, Outkast, 8 Ball & MJG...

Just my thoughts, I don't think much will change anytime soon...

I'm not really complaining though cause it is and will always be good music out here, sometimes you just gotta dig a lil deeper to find it.

What really needs to happen is more types of people embracing the new technology rather than shunning it.

People need to play their positions.
Superstars need to be artist
boring people with some skills need to be writers
Producers need to stay producers and not try to be moguls
Execs need to do their damn job and sign REAL TALENT, people who can actually perform and do the job at the highest level

I think the rap game is in good shape at the moment. I'm happy with the most recent run of albums from TDE, Big Krit, A$AP, J Cole etc.

More lyricists...

More Diversity in subject matter...

Regions getting their own sound like how it was in the 90s...

There are plenty of lyricist, There is the same amount of diversity in subject matter as there has ever been.

Why do regions need their own unique sound?

Until there is more diversity in terms of what styles of hip-hop are allowed to exist at the top the game hip-hop will continue to become more of a stagnant cesspool of Wayne, Aubrey, Yeezy, and Ross clones. When you let basically one style of hip-hop run the whole yard then once that gets under the control of the industry, cacs, jews or who or whatever you want to say has it then we just get what they give us.

Tell that to Big Sean and the rest of these dudes.

They try to stunt and show out, but it comes off as fraudulent, cuz they ain't about that shyt.

A fly nikka will be fly with or without money, stunting is an artform, I know because I like to partake in that shyt from time to time, and I am offending by these fake half ass stunting rappers who don't know how to properly shine

EXACTLY, alot of these new nikkas be trying to make up imaginary lives for themselves knowing DAMN well that aint you. If you have no background in that before the fame n shyt, you gonna come off looking like a goofball tryin to pull it off. Plus the streets will eventually try you and press you on that life you are portraying.

nikkas should jus learn to be themselves :manny:

You a big fat ugly dusty black nikka, but you fukkin bad bytches erryday? :wut:

Cause its dope, when I listen to these 90s albums, it was dope that, Dre, Snoop, Pac albums have that west coast sound and feel. Where's, LL, Nas, Mobb Deep, Biggie, Wu, Jay had that NYC sound.

Yesterday I was watching some old footage of Far Rockaway in the mid 90s and it so reminded me of Mobb Deep & Nas music during that time period.

90s was the golden era of Hip Hop, the mid to late 2000s could have been just as great if NYC & the west coast had some heavy hitters to go along the south big stars (Ross, T.I, Jeezy & Wayne).

black people need to put rap music in the :trash: and start a new genre

barring that, the profanity needs to stop, profanity is what makes the lack of diversity and depth, how many subjects can you deal with when the foundations of your songs are fukk, bytch, nikka, shyt?

sooner a later you will reach a creative dead end if you dont step out of that box
