I don't think another ww will pop off unless non-NATO forces get their shyt together. They can't wage a global war yet.

But I think if it does come to it, there would be more than 2 major factions. Probably would be NATO vs. China & (Russia, toss up) vs. Islamic forces and Indians vs Islamic forces. Israel, India/Pakistan and Taiwan are potential starting points.

Ww3 will be crazy in terms of the big leaps in killing technology.
