Most Western textbooks don't delve into black history. They'll talk about slavery and that's it. These textbooks withdrew the numerous black inventions that flourished this country's economy. Why? Because knowledge is power and black empowerment is a threat to WS.
Hidden fact: Cacs also control the educational curriculum in most Black African countries. They'll teach folks about European history before any pre-colonial Afrikan history nor do they teach about the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, Arab slave trade, or any Black Movements. This is also why there's a disconnect in the diaspora.
It was not an educational system designed to give young people confidence and pride as members of Afrikan societies, but one which sought to instill a sense of deference towards all that was European and capitalist.
