I‘ll add shadow of the colossus to the list. I love how it looks, i love the basic premise, and i love the spectacle of it when it gets going but in general it’s not really that fun to play. In fact a lot of it is tedious as hell.
i feel that way about all Team Ico’s games. They are great art projects but they aren’t fun games.

Yeah. I kinda felt that way about that one as well. The actual colossus traversal and figuring out their weaknesses was cool and unprecedented at the time. So I did give it that credit. But most of everything else in between was very drab. I wasn't the biggest fan of the art style either, despite being able to appreciate what it was going for.
My wife was high key shytting on it at the time. Was another past it time playthru for me. A lot of mid/late gen PS2 games were actually.

Ghost of Tsushima - I understood the hype when the trailers were released and thought it looked better than Sekiro. shyt ended up being mid while Sekiro is one of the best games of last gen. Then people tried to say it was better than TLOU 2
