He described it well in that interview. Feels very real. It's very powerful and tough to watch at times. But Edward James Olmos did a great fukking job. If anything it's just a well made drama that stays with you long after seeing it. You can see the influence it had on Menace.

The actor just had the look. When he wasn’t playing a Yakuza (Showdown in Little Tokyo) member or other Asian gangster, he was playing a Mexican mafia member
