then recently as I am starting an indie label, I realize how fukked up hip-hop/rap is. The Recording Academy is about recognizing those who sells records though sometimes they still throw shade at hip-hop/rap.
My thing is hip-hop/rap is saturating the industry with subpar quality free music. It is trickling into other genres slowly but surely. Macklemore sold records, don't know how but they did. I do not think they deserved to even be in the same categories but whatever.
