Its that "King of the road" feeling and the presumption of safety in being in a bigger ride.

Avg new car price is 30k so yeah if your credit ain’t shot to shyt 40k cars they will give you financing for which means a higher down payment just to keep the price under 40k after taxes

Another thing. The two cheapest new cars on the market are the Mitsubishi Mirage and Nissan Versa. Even those are marked up now so people just go "fukk it" if I'm paying 20k+ for something they might as well go for broke and get a Maxima or an Outlander.

It’s really that people want suvs and cuvs now. That’s just the market. People have 1 kid and think they need all that space
