discord is garbage, an information silo that can't even be traditionally searched. at least I can search the coli with google.

I’d say right now it’s complementary and still can’t fully supplant a forum setup like this. I still crave my asynchronous, organized conversation and sometimes discord just moves too fast for that. Although they are adding new features monthly (like sub-forums, YT watch-together, server monetization etc). But yea I use it just about as much as I text message and shyt. I’m only a part of 3 coli servers though.

Depends on why you’re on Discord. For basic conversations like we have on The Coli, no. For business, making money, discovering new methods of doing things to come up in the world, yes.
