Colts release Josh Freeman

Just got cut by the Colts, even though it looked like he would win the backup job.

Can someone explain what happened to dude's career? Seemed like he had huge promise at one point then everything unraveled. Why was he out of the league and why is it hard for him to secure a position?

How many QB's throw for 25 tds and 6 picks at 22 then find themselves out of the league three years later?

His numbers as a starter his last full season with the Bucs are better than a lot of dudes who are still collecting NFL paychecks.

Same reason as to why Vince Young is unemployed....:mjpls:

I knew he had issues with the coach Schiano or whoever that cac was before Lovie was hired as coach.

Freeman wasn't quite on Newton or Wilson's levels but he seemed decent and capable which is what most teams are looking for right now especially with the current need for great QBs. I think the bad coaching situation before Lovie got there is what the main issue was in addition to Freeman having his issues himself like him having ADHD and his situation getting put out which violated privacy laws I think but anyway..that coach Schiano..I read he held grudges and wasn't a good coach even in college. So this didn't help Freeman's development. Then he went to the Vikings. He didn't do well the one or two games he started and he was competing with Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder for the starting position that time but didn't get enough time to learn their offensive playbook. After that I donno what happened.

Again he wasn't on the level of Cam Newton's and Russell Wilson's greatness but Freeman was average to decent which should have kept him on a team. When below average to average QBs like Hoyer, Bradford, Gabbert, Weeden, Case Kennum, etc. can get and keep getting jobs...Freeman should.

Didn't he only learn maybe 15 plays after spending a few days on the team?

Young sucked. He never had a season like that before.
Yeah he did play on short notice that week. But he was ass though

It's one thing to not know the entire play book and I gave him a pass but shyt he got more prep time than Joe Webb did in his one game as starter (he the one who really got fukked over)

But man the nikka had the throwing accuracy of Slick Rick :francis:. He overthrew everybody that night

Webb was at least on the roster to learn the playbook though. The nerves one would have making a team debut on Monday night less than a week after joining the team? shyt was bound to be ugly.

Dude put up one of the worst QB performances I ever seen in that Monday night game against in Giants
That's the game I was referencing. I remember that game. He did preform poorly against the Giants, which of course I was rooting for the Vikings. I think they threw him out to the wolves too soon without learning their playbook and scheme.
