What Happened to K Dot's Voice brehs?

Was just listening to HiiPower, and it struck me how much deeper his voice was and how much more potent his verses were.


He's floating on tracks now but he lacks the potency he had before..Dude sounding like he always in a helium house these days

People know I'm a notorious Kendrick "hater" but let me keep it 100:

HiiPower was the first time I ever heard Kendrick. I thought Not the greatest voice, but that opening line is nice***, beat's decent and I guess he's trying to be deep. The point is, I didn't think "oh this guy is wack."

All the buzz on Section80 was crazy. I listened to that shyt - sounded like a faux-Outkast weedplate. I thought Keisha's Pain was the other decent cut (because of the beat). I played it a couple times, then forgot about it.

then all of a sudden, Kendrick's overdoing these lame alien voices, the hype went into overdrive and nikkas fell for the ol "resurrection of Nas" okie-doke.

Kendrick's voice these days is at an all-time trash high. Act like people are too stupid to see the genius in TPAB when the lead artist's voice is basura





***Sidenote: Speaking of my Kendrick never said anything impressive thread, not ONE duckworth even mentioned the opening line of HiiPower. Yet these nikkas were supposedly listening to Kendrick before Dre got in the picture "Visions of Martin Luther staring at me" is a good line. It's a great opener.

Most of y'all wouldn't know a good line if it hit you in the face.

hes just finding new ways to use his voice as an instrument...i was low key salty when he debuted his gutter voice on Control and then didnt use it on the album.

He knows his voice is nothing special. If you want to go pop and be distinct on radio, he needed to be Em meets Andre 3000 meets Nicki Minaj

His voice is alright to me

It's the way his voice is mixed and the voice he's using, nothing more. And him rapping over harder drums. There are tracks on TPAB that sound similar.
