No funny ish. Son's mixtape was one of my favorite releases of 2012. I only rank it a lil bit lower than GKMC.

But it seems like this year, where he was suppose to turn it up some MORE. He kinda jus fizzled out. Its like he dont even really care about rhyming like that anymore :what:. What you think happened?

You think the industry bullshyt politics, and forced song making, has gotten to him? :ohhh:

Dude's music doesn't seem like he's being him, he found his voice on H&C and now seems to have lost it. Setbacks he was all over the place and not that impressive IMO, I'm wondering if H&C was his peak....or if he's being serious in feeling the pressure from GKMC (which he shouldn't, no one expects him to be k dot)

Yeah shyt is sad H&C was one of my top releases of last year but I've lost a lot of faith in dude. Its funny homie absolutely slays every guest appearance he gets on - just straight embarrassing folks left and right and yet the solo cuts he's been dropping are just not it. I still hold out hope that Oxymoron, if it ever drops will be dope, but I just dont know. Seems like he's psyched himself out or something.

I'm feeling what Nipsey said more and more now

Who expects these rappers to drop at a certain time, or release a certain amount of music? He dropped a quality album in H&C, some dope singles, and Setbacks was a dope, raw project. Let that man cook, cuz when he finally severs up Oxymoron, it will be more dope shyt.

I'd rather a rapper take his time in between projects than to rush an album out because of public pressure

He'll be fine. His recent tracks dont have the same energy to them, but I'm sure the album is coming soon enough. He's more of a Pusha T type style-over-substance artist anyways, so he just needs production really. We doubted Pusha and he delivered

Honestly, based off what I heard recently, I'm more excited for Jay Rock next shyt

How is dude flabby and sick when he dropped a dope project just last year? Give this dude time to really go in the kitchen and cook up something hot. Dudes be wanting rappers to drop some rushed bullshyt and be wondering why alot of the music comes across as microwave

I don't think this thread was about trying to get him to push out more music by a certain deadline (I'd gladly wait til 2014 for oxymoron), moreso about the quality of the music he is releasing and how it seems "off", it's not the dude we heard on H&C

that said, I think another good avenue for him would be to release a track with him and ASAP, something about when he's rapping with ASAP (and soulo) brings out every dope quality about him - swag, persona, flow, and lyrics

bullshyt...
this is the exact type of situation where you cant apply Nipsey's sentiment
No one expects Schoolboy Q to be the next kendrick... no ones trynna rush him, as TDE is already an established brand. the fans just want some groovy shyt and hes slacking for whatever reason. it sucks man

couldnt have said it better, this is why alot of the nikkas who dropped debut albums in the last 3-5 years albums didnt live up to expectations.

perfect example is pusha t, no im not saying wait years to drop your debut but wait until you feel like its time to drop it instead of rushing it and coming out with some forced garbage single with a big name feature to drop it.

nikkas on this site is always quick to throw the :flabbynsick: label around and ready to write somebody off quick.

He'll be fine. They're doing the right thing by waiting because it takes the GKMC pressure off of him.

People have to understand how far Q has come as a rapper and how much growth he still has.

I had high expectations coming off of H&C but they get lower and lower with every song he has put out since then....

I still hope Oxymoron is gonna be dope but I'm starting to get more interested in hearing a new Jay Rock project
