I think that as drunk driving became a more serious crime games based on accuracy that are more enjoyable when you’re trying to overcome being drunk became less popular.
In NYC there are still bars that highlight these games but were a city with good public transportation and Ubers.

People don’t really get drunk in public no more, like loaded. Seems more like a young people thing and they’ll all be in a group and go get killed or something.
Darts and games are for the classic drinker. We making a night of this cause I know the consequences tomorrow. I remember my uncle getting loaded and coming and hopping on the Genesis with us and he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that you couldn’t move the person by moving the controller. He was too drunk to press the buttons.
nikkas don’t play cards no more either. That scene from menace where dude got shot at the card game was real to us. But that’s because nikkas was half gone and wanted to play games.
