I think Black Flag is good. I had it for 2 months and finally decided to really play it on ps4 last month. The ship upgrades are a good way to tie in the open world stuff you are doing. I know its hard to make that open world stuff really rewarding and have an impact on the game, but nobody wants to traverse the entire map 5 times (or even fast travel) for new robes . All that work should go into something meaningful imo.

I hope they address the combat too. I know your character is an assassin but it can take a lot of meaning out of the missions when you get spotted and it doesn't matter. You can easily take out 13 fully armed guards with 2 swords and 2 handguns .

I couldn't get into the first two and I ignored the rest until Assassin's Creed 4.

Yeah, I feel this for sure. One of the weakest aspects of the games is how easy the main gameplay/combat is. On Black Flags, on the swimming and sailing missions are challenging and even then, it's most for the wrong reasons (problematic controls).

I beat AC 1 on New Years Eve last year. It was cool, but the eavesdropping, interrogation, pickpocketing and things like that was repetitive.

I'm currently playing AC 2 and loving it. I am now on Sequence 11.

Quick question, is it necessary (story wise) to play in the order the games were released to understand things better, or can i jump into AC3 after i beat AC2 (I bought AC Ezio's Trilogy)

Black Flag was dope but the main was just ok. And the way he was developed was corny too. The series should go back to a more stealh approach because the combat was to easy and there was no consequnce to going ham with melee
