I did a few dumb things out of being influenced by the rap scene. When I was in high school following trends, I used to listen to nothing but rap and R&B, and I refused to listen to anything else. I wore my shirts a few sizes too big, and I used to leave the stickers and tags on all my fitted hats. Also one time, I tried to throw up some dumb gang sign for a prom photo (despite never being part of a gang), but the cameraman told me not to do it. I feel like a jackass as I reminisce about all that. All of that stuff I did was because of me being too worried about fitting in with the popular crowd and the thugs. It lets me remember how much BS I had to put up with in high school when it comes to the cliquish vibe, and how much better I have it in college.
