KD is the youngest scoring champion ever. He won four scoring titles in 5 years and led his team to the Finals. He was the NBA MVP in 2014.

His resume w/o Golden State puts him at Karl Malone/Charles Barkley level.

The rings make him top 10 all time period.

I think 'asterisk' is the wrong word to use in regards to KD and his empty titles. Everybody knows there was a difference between Bron's Miami titles and the one he got in Cleveland, it meant more. Durant's rings don't mean much, but he was gonna be HOF whether he started blatantly ring chasing or not.

We've established that GS very well could have lost to Cleveland in 2017 and probably 99.9% loses to Houston this year without KD.

So...what makes the titles empty? Is it JUST that he lost in 7 against us and then came to GS?

Or is it the "I'm not a leader" thing?

Because at this point I honestly don't get the asterisk talk. 2015 we were down 2-1 twice. 2016 we lost in the worst way possible. 2017...yeah we wrecked shyt, but in 2018 we got pushed to the brink again...

Is this a troll thread? Led the league in points scored 5 years straight with 4 of them including scoring average, won an MVP, and led a team to the finals at 23 years old past a spurs team that had won 20 games in a row going into game 3 of the western finals. Considering that nobody drafted as high as him accomplishes much as a rookie and his entire 2014-15 season was lost to injury and injuries derailed their postseason in 2013-15, there really wasn’t much more someone could really ask of him. The fact that they were up 3-1 on the warriors was an overachievement on its own, not to mention knocking out a spurs team that finished 12 games ahead of them in the standings.

Not only that but the fact that he had been texting and getting courted by those guys all season, it seems to me his mind was already made up and there was no way in hell that didn't influence his play at least subconciously. The rings mean significantly less than they would elsewhere, how people pretend to miss that point is beyond me especially after Durant himself admitted he went ring chasing for validation and still couldn't fill that void

You think he woulda been that conflicted had he won a title in OKC (which contrary to popular belief, was very possible) or somewhere else other than GS? I don't think so. Acting like this perspective is only reserved for haters and trolls is GSW stans in denial of what KD himself been bytching and moaning about since he got there. That being said, none of that is going to negate him being one of the greats.
