Except it was.
Partisan legislation is often overturned immediately by the next administration via executive order.
thats not the same thing. yes you can overturn some things via exec order for the time you're in office. and the next guy/lady can reverse it. but you cant excec order Most things you put into law. which is why obama was slow to do a bunch of exec orders during his first term. as a lawyer he knows its much harder to overturn actual laws, then it is to reverse some previous pres' exec order.
But again that wasnt the point of the thread. i asked a question. about so called reaching across the aisle in regards to the average citizen. how often has doing that really helped the average citizen? in the past few decades?
I asked because its clear as day it hasnt helped enough. we know this how? due to people being homeless at a much higher rate, broker barely able to pay rent, living in their car(not being counted as officially homeless), living with friends/family bouncing from house to house not being counted as officially homeless, youngins going to college not being able to afford housing living in their cars while going to school. a very very small percentage of people balling out of control while the rest of us are not doing so well. Its clear as day, reaching across the aisle overall has dont very little for the average joe or jane. So why do we keep allowing politicians to use this stale line? it means nothing in reality on the ground for regular folks. absolutely nothing.
