I saw a shoot with Paul Orndorff a few years back where he mentions telling Goldberg sometime between mid 98 and early 99 to go to Vince instead of resigning with WCW.

I was a kid at the time and used to argue that Goldberg would kick Austin's ass to my friends who were Austin fans, that was the match everyone wanted to happen more than anything else at the time.

Someone will say Rock would've main evented Mania 15 anyway, but I'm looking for more realistic thought of how things would've played out if he Goldberg left WCW around that time, say after he lost to Nash.

For one, he gets fed to HHH as he becomes The Game. WCW guys have a bad record of getting pushed in the E and I don't see him getting his hands on the main title for years, if ever.
He would have racked up a couple of runs with Big Goldie once it became WWE property though.

DDP probably becomes Champ. WCW didn't really have anyone else at that popularity level to go against the NWOs.
