If you want to make HBCUs competitive athletically you have to make the monetary investment, period. That's the only way. Hoping and praying some 18 year old trying to cash out ASAP is going to take the chance and play at a place with inferior competiton, inferior coaching staff, and inferior facilities is gonna get you nowhere.

You put in the money, you will see the results. Create recruiting budgets. Build world class facilities. Hire world class coaches. Then they will come.

Exactly breh

Ain't no 18 year old highly touted recruit turning down all the cool shyt PWIs have to offer.

This is all it is. These cats are wishing upon a star, hoping one athlete will spur a movement, when all that needs to be done are financial investments. But nobody is really trying to do that. When these schools start getting big time donations then EVERYTHING changes including athletics.

I agree.

But where is that money coming from, when most of your HBCUs are too broke to adequately fund themselves as is?

Schools need to get a better alumni program and donor drives to lock in commitments from people. That shyt needs to be a machine, like at PWIs.

Then vote in your local elections for people who want to fund the damn things.

Do black people have an obligation to HBCUs as the article suggests?

true. It starts witht the adults/alumni putting money in to get the program better conditions.

Also, improving economically so that athletes coming from poor family doesnt feel the need to immediately go to the league to provide for them
