20 years before the Civil War began?

would he roll with the South or would he roll with the North?
he still has access to all the crystals and his Ice Mansion with all that info.

how would this go down?

he'd easily recognize the plight of the enslaved/free black people, and soon after realize how it had a negative, yet more subtle, impact on the white people involved

What if slaves found him :mindblown:

You should have sold this story to DC :ahh:

how could they keep and raise him though?
massa would scoop that white boy up quick.

i think a more believable and interesting story would be if a poor, economically and class oppressed white family found him. a dirt poor, redneck Supes that becomes a man as the Civil War starts...forced to choose between his Southern roots and his own morals.

:whoo:

Supes: "How can i be a service Mr. Lincoln?"

If he still has the Fortress of Solitude then like @horse. kills said he'd definitely realize that slavery is bad.

Now if he's without the Fortress of Solitude and raised by a random confederate family. Blacks would still be in chains. :whoa:

This is essentially what Icon (A milestone character) is.

An Alien crash lands in the south and is raised in slavery by a couple. He doesn't age so you get to see him through the years dealing with stuff.

it really depends on who raised him. The Kents were good people who instilled in him decent values. If he was raised by anyone else not like them then more then likely he would be corrupt in some way.

But as the DC universe always shows the idea of batman will always keep superman in check.

Read superman Red son that sort of answers your question or Squadran Supreme by J. Micheal Straczynski really answers that question.

Depends on his family and there background. If say he was raised by Irish or Scottish decedents rednecks then he would prob be just as racist as they are. Then when he finds out he is an Alien that feeling of superiority will go to his head and he will probably just take over the whole Planet. If he is raised by Quakers then he has a shot of being a good person and become the superman we all know.
