What if the Minnesota Vikings didn't have the worst starting QB in the NFL

NFL season bout to begin it got me thinking just how bad Christian Ponder really is. Most QB's who struggle usually have bad Offensive lines, bad RB's, sub par defense, terrible receivers, etc... I know it's only his third year but he has done nothing this preseason to suggest he will ever get better. The Vikings have the best RB in the game a good defense and there O-line isn't terrible and there wide receivers Jennings, Simpson and Patterson are more than capable of catching a few passes.

I read some stat where he is like the only NFL QB to not throw a touchdown pass longer then 20 yards Those struggle receivers last year didnt help either.

If he continues to improve then we don't have anything to worry about... If he regresses, we cut our losses and find someone else next offseason... But based on last years stats you dot get rid of him yet.

ponder sucks but he def isnt the worst starting QB in the league, at all.

the reality is that there's no real great alternatives. the vikings draft well with spielman and they wasnt gonna give up no 2nd round pick for alex smith

it made sense for them to give him a 3rd and make or break year in the year with a solid QB draft class

I've never said I stated he is "on the verge of superstardom"... I just think it takes more than one full year starting to make a fair judgement...

But keep mentioning me so we can go back as forth again

You're obviously offended I compared his 1st full year starting to Matt Ryan's... Failing to realize I only did that because they are being mentored by the same coach... You don't see me comparing his stats to legit superstar NFL QB's with Super Bowl wins do you?.

You like to compare Matt or Ponder. It's not a good comparison, but it's a free country. In yr 3, Matt was poised to become a star and led the Falcons to a 13-3 record & NFC South title. You can't have it both ways where you want to compare Matt & Ponder's first 2 seasons, but then qualify this as "a make it or break it yr" for Ponder when Matt Ryan was firmly entrenched as the franchise QB here.

I keep bringing it up b/c your comparison doesn't hold weight
