I know its all meaningless in the long run both teams still have to get past the Heat eventually

but if the Nets past the Knicks in the standings its gotta be a huge success for them and will be a high blow for the Knicks

considering how the season started and all the hoopla over the knicks

and for the Nets it being there first season in BK could set the stage for the Nets legitimately being NY number one team

One of the few stories left to watch in the East

Umm the hoopla over the Knicks ??:usure::what: you clearly don't live in NYC or don't follow the New York teams . Bk was the pick to do good not the Knicks the Knicks were made fun of for being geriatric . Go look at the nets offseason thread , the Knicks , the threads made making fun of the Knicks and melo all off season then rethink this thread .
And no team is overtaking the Knicks in NYC . The Knicks would have to win like 4 games for Years or something and bomb the lottery pick maybe . We aren't full of bandwagon fans like Miami

It means that all the media heads and prediction makers that were sucking off the Nets before the season will feel validated. nikkas forget alot of people picked the Knicks to finish 3rd in the division

Nets are already NY's most beloved basketball team :manny:

Shut up you pube-chinnian ho.

Anybody that thinks the Knicks came into this season with more "hoopla" (a word used by mainly 65-year old white people - I should know) has a complete disconnect from the sports culture, or just wasn't paying attention.

Then they flopped out of the gate, the Knicks came out sprinting.... beating the heat a few times, knocking off contenders, rolling.

Then the knicks hit a swoon (age/injuries, age-injuries) and the Nets started rounding into form.

And now they're separated by a game and a half with 25-30 games left.

They're both top teams in the East, just like we said they'd be. Just like they're supposed to be.

I don't think ending up a top 3/4 seed in the east is any kind of disappointment, based on what we thought coming in, and continue to think.

Hopefully they heat back up, and pass Indy... If they play decent ball from here on out, you're lookin at being in the 50 win range. Can't be upset about that with a team owning an average age of 69.7 years old.

The Knicks are still the main show in New York, but I like the Nets and I think there's more than enough room to have two good teams.
