Let's agree to guidelines and settle this once and for all.
Majority of all african Americans are at least 20%white.
It's is possible to be light skin and have 2 black parents (my daughters)
their are brown skin African Americans with green eyes who come from 2 black parents (myself)
My wife is light skin with green eyes but her grandfather is half white.
My green eyes come from my grandfather who is 25% white.
So even though my wife have a very small percentage of let say 15-10%, our kids looked like mixed kids even though there really only 10% white......
So are you guys basing who is Black off DNA (bloodline %) or off looks.
If you judged my kids off looks you would say there mixed, I get asked this question EVERYDAY.
But if you looked at their DNA they have very little white blood (10-15% max)
But the average African American is %20 white, which my kids % is smaller then the average AA.
I used myself and family as a example.
But it's the same with my cousins and my friends.
In my opinion I go with the stats, if your 75-80% black I would consider you black.
If your 50% or less I would consider you (mixed) first then African american I wouldn't say that person is Black though.
I think you can be African American an not be black (80% African blood)
I think biracial can identify as African American but not as black cause black should represent a strong majority of African blood which is separate from being (African American which can represent more of a mixture in blood).
