This video was very enlightening. I've been up on Stoicism for years and can wrap my head around other schools of philosophy like existentialism but Neoplatonism always had me like Seemed kind of impenetrable. This dude does a great job of breaking it down.

Since you are interested in stoicism, Neoplatonism compliments it perfectly. The stoics saw everything as a United whole derived from a universal substance. It’s not really talked about in favor of stoicisms practical applications, however.

Yeah it was crazy how much this influenced Christian thought. Christianity could probably pull in more young men if it leaned on the philosophical aspect and not literal angels, demons and "blessings"

also we personify God as a sky daddy that answers our prayers and intervenes in our personal life instead of God representing the universe/multiverse itself.

You don’t need to attend church to walk with the teachings of Christ. Its just one of many tools put in place.

Hegel was not a christian,nominaly sure but reading through the phenomology he was a mystic. His view of spirit and the absolute is closer to mysticism than mainstream christianity

Well neither was he influence by christians, gnostic christianity maybe but his thought was influence more by mystic thinkers.

Platonism has influemce all of philosphy if u wanna go there
