What is the better game, Super Mario World or Super Mario 3?

I always thought 3 was more iconic, world only really introduced yoshi which is whatever

3 may technically be more iconic, mostly cuz it was in that movie at the time. But world wsa the better game.

3 over all is superior.

World just looks better and added yoshi which was a big gameplay change up. But 3 had suits that also changed how you played stages, and if you were good enough you could use them in other zones.

I hate the sliding physics in world but world does everything else better

I'm just better at SMB3 because it's more precise

i also feel like 3 really pushed the series forward as a 2d platformer. It added sliding, flying, you could dip into the background, whistles, frog suit, tanooki suit, giant shoe, full tanooki, the floating castles, the koopa kids etc.

It was just way more inventive, where world just feels iterative

I always have trouble with this kind of stuff, because what came first influenced what came after. but I think SMW is a better game. it took 3's formula and made it better
